Margot provides home visits and virtual visits for lactation support and teaches private classes in childbirth education, lactation preparation and newborn care. She also facilitates lactation and new parent support groups.

Keeping everyone safe and protecting you and your family from COVID, the flu or other illnesses, is of the upmost importance. Margot is fully vaccinated and boosted and will wear a mask during visits upon request.

Home Visits

Breastfeeding/chestfeeding is a relationship between you and your baby. Since both of you are essential to this relationship, we will discuss any questions and concerns that you have about you and your baby. During a home visit I can provide support with:

  • Latching and getting comfortable with various positions

  • Assessing milk intake using a pre and post weighted feed

  • Addressing nipple or breast/chest pain

  • Getting sleepy babies to feed more actively

  • Guidance on pumping and supplementation

  • Establishing and/or increasing milk supply

  • Engorgement, clogged ducts, mastitis

  • Developing a lactation care plan to help you going forward

Video Consults

I also offer video consultations for those who prefer this option. During a virtual session I can provide many forms of support including:

  • Assessing your baby’s latch

  • Guiding you on position and latch techniques

  • Practicing massage and hand expression to help relieve engorgement and improve milk production

  • Helping you to keep your sleepy baby more active at the breast

  • Providing guidance on pumping

  • Explaining how your milk supply becomes established

  • Supporting you with supplementation and bottle feeding if necessary

  • Developing a lactation care plan

However, I can not perform a suck assessment on your baby's mouth or provide a pre and post feeding weight check over video. You might consider renting a scale that is precise and accurate enough for these kind of weight checks. 

Groups and Classes
